When the wind has a chill to it, warm up with 2KW’s new winter cocktails and food.
Decked out with a marque and heaters, the roof top venue on the corner of King William Street and North Terrace, Adelaide, is a great place to check out the views, snuggle up and keep warm while sipping a cocktail or two.
‘Ladies who lunch’ was inspired by the “Burnside Mums” who catch up for lunch at 2KW and this cocktail includes gin, sherry, rhubarb, Beerenberg plum jam. Tart, tangy and sweet!
Vencermos#2 blends coconut rum, agave, pineapple and sesame and was my favourite on the night. Reminding me of tropical nights on the beach! Yum, yum, yum!
The Bon Scott (named after the AC/DC front man) includes warmed whiskey, apple, spiced syrup and butter. Served warm this certainly warms you from the inside out!
Donny’s Pink Pants (named after Don Dunstan famous pinks shorts!) includes raicilla, pomegranate, strawberry and lime. Fruity and tart and oh so enjoyable!
And while sipping a cocktail you can enjoy a platter of charcuterie, roast artichoke puree, lemon, walnut quince. A wonderful blend of flavours.
New dishes on the 2KW menu include ‘Basa Gede’, blood sausage, cauliflower, herb sauce. I didn’t get to try this dish but looks interesting!
The creamed corn polenta with speck, mushrooms and chestnut was a wonderfully earthy dish with salty speech and earthiness from the mushroom and chestnuts. Just delicious!
So head up to the roof on the corner of King William and North Terrace to enjy this menu!
