Warm balmy summer nights and cocktails go hand-in-hand. And if you’re looking for a place where you can watch the world go by, check out Club Tropicana.

The General Havelock hotel in Hutt Street, has Club Tropicana upstairs on the balcony, Thursday to Saturday nights. There are a range of cocktails, jugs, beers and nibbles are available.

Here’s a taste of the cocktails:

‘Passionfruit mojito’ with Bacardi, sugar syrup, passionfruit, fresh lime and mint. Beautiful and summery;

‘Watermelon martini’ with vodka, fresh watermelon and lime. A favourite of mine;

‘Raspberry amaretto sour’ with amaretto, raspberry liquer, lemon juice and fresh raspberries. A little sour for my sweet tastebuds but still refreshing; ‘Sloe one’ with sloe gin, Chambord, Frangelico, raspberry jam and fresh raspberries;

‘Spring sangria’ with brandy, Chambord, vanilla vodka, Cointreau, shiraz, apple juice, orange juice and fresh fruit;

‘Apple, mint and cucumber sangria’ with sparkling white, fresh apple, mint, cucumber, apple juice and lime juice.

The cocktails are $12 each and the jugs $20.
