Today sees St Louis open to the public, in O’Connell Street, North Adelaide: a wonderfully decadent place, sure to please!
After a new fit out, the interior is looking beautiful with light and dark wood features. There’s a good amount of seating inside with 12 tables, bench seating along the bar and lounge chairs near the fire. And as the weather warms up, it will be lovely to sit outside.
The menu covers everything from breakfast, lunch, desserts, cocktails and drinks. And in the cabinets and on the bench, other small treats to feast your eyes upon!
Petite gateau’s, cherry custard tart, lemon polenta cake, cannoli and a ‘bleeding heart’ are currently on offer but these will change regularly.
I tasted the ‘bleeding heart’ – a white chocolate mousse with raspberry coulis. Soft, yet tangy! And paired nicely with a French martini.
Much of the produce is made locally, and the ice cream made at their factory in Glenelg. They are eager to try out new flavours too!
Anyone who knows me knows I love a good espresso martini and this one does not disappoint!
How’s this chocolate brownie crepe!?
If you love popcorn try this popcorn waffle: a warm Belgian waffle, drizzled with maple syrup and pure melted white chocolate, topped with dulce de leche, caramel popcorn and chocolate coated wafer balls. Served with French vanilla ice cream!
This is the Ferrero waffle: a warm Belgian waffle, drizzled with pure melted chocolate, topped with chocolate coated wafer balls, crushed hazelnuts, melted Nutella and milk chocolate drops. Served with French vanilla ice cream.
Or if you like churros, you can order them for one, two, or a feast!
Other fine desserts include an ‘Eton Mess’: layers of crunchy meringue, fresh strawberries. Berry coulis and French vanilla ice cream drizzled with cream and hazelnut ganache.
‘Sweet Amelia chocolate journey’ is a decadent salted caramel chocolate log served with dulce de leche, caramel popcorn and ice cream. Just divine!
‘Archie’s cookie crunch’ consists of layers of shortbread cookies, melted Nutella, fresh strawberries and cookies and cream ice cream.
And the shakes are something else!
Salted caramel waffle shake topped with a Belgian waffle, dulce de leche and caramel popcorn.
Wild strawberry shake topped wit fresh strawberries. Whipped cream and fairly floss.
Peanut butter brownie shake: a peanut butter Nutella milkshake topped with a warm chocolate brownie and chocolate coated wafer balls. Drizzled with pure melted milk chocolate!
St Louis North Adelaide is open early until late with the grand opening this Saturday 27th August, with free ice cream all day!
** I was an invited guest.
Yummo. Those shakes look scrumptious.
