Open for about 12 months, Naya (Hindi for new) is a modern Indian style bar in Waymouth Street, Adelaide.

With a curiously shaped interior, they’ve used the space well, with booths along one wall and the bar across the back wall by the kitchen.

On arrival we were served a taste of a butter chicken cocktail. Tomato with Worcestershire sauce, spices, vodka, yoghurt on the rim with chicken on a skewer. Creative and a little unusual.

We then tried mac and cheese balls with tomato fenugreek sauce. Hot and crispy!

The naan tacos, chicken tikka, green chutney was the favourite dish of the night. Beautiful soft naan bread with well marinated chicken and fresh lettuce with a green sauce.

Vegetable samosa, floated in Dal masala.

Rice Burger, crab patty, chili mayo were unusual and a little difficult to eat.

Lamb Jhalfrazzi and rice and tender and full of flavour.

And although I’m not a big fan of chai, the chai martini was perfectly balanced. I would certainly order one of those again!
